Jennifer Hudson and Richard Branson

Posted on: March 9, 2014

Jennifer Hudson and Richard Branson may be a strange title to my latest blog you could be thinking perhaps?

The reason being I have been spending the morning doing some SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) and while I was looking for what was trending I saw Jennifer Hudson and Richard Branson had over 70,000 searches between them. I thought by including this in the title and the content it could test the hit rate on www.atlassailing.co.uk although me not being an expert am probably barking up the wrong tree.

Full steam ahead

Posted on: March 2, 2014

It seems I am now entering into the busiest period of time since I set up Atlas Sailing at the end of 2012 and we’ve only just seen off February. I seem to be getting regular enquiries which invariably results in bookings. The voyage around the Saronic Gulf from Athens later this month could quite easily have been sold twice over and after the monthly email shot I sent out I received the quickest ever booking for a full boat. I sent the email out at 2pm with details of the activities for March in particular a short Mother’s Day cruise. At 2.03pm I received an email to book the full boat for the Mother’s Day trip. ¬†How good is that?

So much happening !

Posted on: February 20, 2014

I must say the economy certainly seems to have picked up. Generally there is a better mood about people & business and judging by the amount of bookings and enquiries I have had that certainly is the case.

Or is it also due to the fact that I got on my bike and found the work? (thank you Norman Tebbit for the quote).

Never a dull moment!

Posted on: February 11, 2014

As in the heading there is always something that life throws at you during day to day life.

Regardless whether it be work or play there is something that will test your mettle and I had such a day last Friday. After having a fantastic week and in particular a very good Friday I arrived at the marina to ‘relax’ for a couple of hours before heading out to the First Friday event which is hosted by Ma2 and is held at the Lemon Tree in Poulton.

Better late than never !

I can never really think of what to ‘blog’ about so I might a s well mention where and what I’m up to so far.

This year has started extremely well with quite a few bookings already made for various sailing activities. I’m particularly pleased that the 7 day cruise from Athens is now confirmed and will be going ahead and will take place between the 21st-28th March.

2014 Sailing Programme

Posted on: January 2, 2014

I thought I may as well make the first (of many) postings this year about the itinerary for the first half of the year.

One of the main appeals about sailing for me is the fact you can have complete escapism from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

In these days of ipods, ipads, iphones and a plethora of other modern devices it’s a real return to ‘The Good Old Days’ where when we are under sail we are only allowed to go as fast as Mother Nature allows. It also gives us quality time with people without interruption where we have the luxury of time to actually converse human to human.

I have put together a provisional list of sailings which include places like Dublin and the Isle of Man. I have also put dates together which will enable guests to tie in a sailing trip with, for example, The TT Races in June. I also have a 7 day cruise around Tuscany in March which without wishing to sound like I’m exaggerating can be a real sense of adventure as we visit Napoleon’s birthplace and stomping grounds of Corsica and Elba.
