Uniquely, IYT Worldwide has been approved by the Irish Government to issue ICC s to qualified applicants of any nationality on their behalf. IYT Worldwide has also had approval from the M.C.A. (Maritime and Coastguard Agency of Great Britain) for many years to issue ICCs to United Kingdom passport holders and various other countries on their approved list.

  1. Preparation for sea – Checklist and mechanical checks
  2. Short Passage – each candidate executes a short pre-planned passage as skipper where testing of the following is required:
    1. Coming alongside / berthing / un-berthing
    2. Man overboard recovery
    3. 360 degree turn
    4. 3 point turn
    5. Navigation skills
    6. Handling under sail (for sail endorsement)
    7. Handling under power (for power endorsement)Athens Blog
  3. Theory examinations cover the following subjects:
    1. Collision regulations
    2. Navigation lights
    3. Shapes and sounds
    4. Buoyage (IALA A & B)
    5. Harbour pilotage
    6. VHF Radio
    7. Variation & deviation
    8. Chartwork /symbols & abbreviations
    9. Tides- height of tide and drying height
    10. Basic position fixing
    11. Weather
    12. Course to steer to counteract tide or current
    13. Set & drift / leeway
    14. Pilotage- required for coastal knowledge
