An Aegean Post
Whilst sat on deck in the port of Aegina on a balmy Grecian evening I thought I may as well scribble a blog.
The Odyssey started with a 0300 get up in order to get to the airport on time and meet the guests.
All was fine with check in until we reach the security checks.
I full appreciate the need for the tightness of security in this time of lunatic terrorists but whilst being searched the officer touched and stroked me everywhere. The only thing he didn’t do was cup his hand around my testicles. I’m pretty easy going but even this forced me to make comment to him.
Then there was the DOUBLE search of my hand baggage and a less than polite female security operative. Anyway enough about that.
After a reasonable flight we were soon on route to Kalamaki marina. While we sorted and provisioned the yacht he guests took the time to enjoy a trip around Athens.
All fresh after a good sleep we have breakfast then slip lines to head out on our adventure.
First stop Aegina.
We had not been out on the water 30 minutes before we were visited by dolphins. I never tire of seeing these creatures in their natural habitat, in particularly when they come so close and swim around the boat.
Once not being enough, we were blessed with another visit a couple of hours later and with the sea being calm we decided to drop anchor and enjoy lunch in the sun.
Lunch consumed we weighed anchor then proceeded to Aegina. When looking to select where to moor we were beckoned towards the quayside by some gentlemen who then promptly assisted us with mooring up. Much to my pleasure these chaps were German so I had chance to polish up my Deutsch and speak with these chaps in their own language.
As the sun began to set we had a wander around the town and dined locally as opposed to onboard ship.
On return I now sit on deck watching the world go by and people watching.
That’s it for now folks.
Btw why not hunt me down on Google+ ? Please do.
