Back to normal now.

Hello all !

You may possibly have noticed a lack of activity on the various social media platforms from me over the ‘Festive Period’?

New Year 2015

The reason being is that I can’t really be doing with it. It’s not a bah humbug attitude as many people who know me are aware that I have been like this for decades. I am not against people enjoying themselves or anything it is just the fact that many people use this time of year to do special things or contact people they have lost touch with and the one that REALLY grinds my gears………make ‘New Year Resolutions’ !

The featured image on this post is a screen shot I took last night when I was thinking about the many people making promises to themselves about the New Year. I was actually, sat on the couch stone cold sober. The first time I’ve been sober on 31st December since I was a young teenager. What were you doing? I would be interested to know.

My view is as I always say ‘Carpe Diem’ (Seize the Day). Work well and plan well TODAY and tomorrow will look after its self. Why wait for that special time or day to make arrangements to catch up with people or start your new fitness regime? Do it now !

Fortunately most people I know and associate with, particularly in business, are the get up and go type of person. If I find someone negative or moans a bit too much I tend to give them a wide berth as it just affects my own state of mind if they start to get on my t*ts.

As far as the New Year Resolutions go, why wait. In my experience most people who make the promises to themselves break them within days never mind weeks. If you really want to do something you shouldn’t need to wait, DO IT NOW !

If it is ‘humanely possible’ there is absolutely no reason why you can’t do it. I mean that within reason of course as most of us would not be able to run 100 metres under 12 seconds or complete a marathon under 3 hours but you get the idea of what I’m trying to say?

If you have become a tad more portly and the clothes are getting tight or you are now buying a bigger size, don’t wait for New Year to start your attempt at dieting, just change your day to day habits and lifestyle. Stop shoving as many meat pies down your throat and take some exercise ! Believe me it will work.

Likewise, if you want to stop smoking…..STOP. Just don’t go buying any, it’s not bloody difficult you know. The only thing stopping you is YOUR OWN WILLPOWER (or lack of it). If you really want to stop, you will…SIMPLE AS !

So generally, that’s the reason I’m happy that the festivities are over and I can carry on as normal, that is….enjoying everyday. I can honestly say that I wake up virtually EVERY morning thinking…’Come on, bring it on’.

I’m really looking forward to getting back to normal and meeting up with the positive, like minded folk I have the pleasure to deal with on a day to day or week to week basis, and what I say to those is not, ‘All the best’ or ‘Let’s make 2015 a better year’……I say…….Let’s carry on as normal and do what we always do, that is, being positive and enjoying every day as much as we can. Fair enough, problems do crop up but that’s life so deal with it the best you can and carry on. Over the ‘festive period’ I read Richard Branson’s autobiography which was a real inspiration. He comes across as someone who whatever he touches turns to gold but he himself has had some real problems and come close to the brink on numerous occasions. What did he do?? He didn’t moan about it he just got on with things and came through.

It probably sounds like I’m trying to preach but that’s not how this post is intended. I am very much a ‘get off your arse and do it’ type of person and have always said that if you really want to do something, you will. The only reason you fail is because of your lack of commitment.

So whatever your New Year Resolution is, think !  If you don’t do it there is only one reason, YOU.

Carpe Diem

Sorry, but that is the honest truth. It is all down to you.

So finally, as I say on many occasions CARPE DIEM.
